Take My Yoke Upon You

Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

In Scripture, a “yoke” carries both a literal and metaphorical meaning. It is most commonly associated with a wooden frame fitted on the necks of oxen to bind them and make their work of plowing easier. It represents teamwork and cooperation. 

The biblical definition can have various meanings, either signifying servitude and freedom or metaphorically-speaking, it can mean oppression and liberation, reminding us of the burdens we may experience in our lives.  But, we can break that yoke and start a new phase in our lives by letting go of the weight and burdens.

How do we do that?

Matthew 11:29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Just as oxen are yoked together to plow a field to accomplish a task, we are called to do kingdom work in our service to YHWH. And by taking on His Son’s yoke and embracing His teachings, His values, and His way of life, we shed the burdens of the world and find peace and freedom which stems from the purpose YHWH has planned for our lives. It allows Him to lead and guide us on the righteous path.

As we embrace the yoke of Messiah Yahshua, we find rest for our souls and fulfillment in serving Him. Just as the oxen are yoked together, we are called to do the righteous works of the Father, being lovingly-committed to do His will.

How so?

By staying faithful to His covenant, being careful to obey and guard His laws and commandments. Doing so, we find guidance, direction, and the strength to overcome the obstacles life brings. It also brings blessings and gives life everlasting.

Matthew 11:30 “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Yahshua emphasizes that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. When we submit ourselves to His yoke, we become His disciples, sharing in His mission, recognizing His voice and following His lead. We can find comfort and assurance in our journey of faith. HalleluYAH!

Walk in The Light!

Walk in the Light!

“Do not gloat over me my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, YAH will be my light.” Micah 7:8

Do not give up when you are going through trials and tribulation. YAH will get you through whatever darkness you are going through and bring you into His light.

“You, YAH, keep my lamp burning; my Elohim turns my darkness into light.” Psalm 18:28

YAH will be your guide and your light for your path.

“The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5

No matter how tough your situation gets, there is always hope with YAH. Trust and obey Him!

“YAH is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? YAH is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1

YAH did not give us a Spirit of fear but of courage and strength. He is our strong tower!

“Then YAH said, ‘Let there be light.’ And there was light.” Genesis 1:3

His light is our hope, wisdom, and goodness [Torah] – it is everlasting.

“Your Torah is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:05

YAH’s Word is a guiding light to help keep you on the straight and narrow path according to His will.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Messiah יהושע is our prime example of how we should walk and be a light unto others by bearing good fruit.

“The unfolding of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130

YAH’s Word gives wisdom and understanding to those who truly seek Him. This means you receive the Holy Spirit of Truth if you wholly surrender your heart to Him and do His will.

“The light is pleasant and it is good for the eyes to see the sun.” Ecclesiastes 11:7

Always surround yourself with the good things of YAH and do not love the world, for the lust of the eyes is of the flesh. This separates you from YAH.

“For the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth.” Ephesians 5:9

The good fruit we bear is His light dwelling in us, which produces goodness, righteousness, and truth – Torah.

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of YAH has risen upon you.” Isaiah 60:1

At one time you were in darkness, but now you are a lighthouse in a dark world. YAH is your everlasting light and He is your glory! Arise and shine, Israel!

“The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness.” Luke 11:34

Edify your heart, mind, and soul with the Word of YAH, for His Torah is Light, righteousness, and truth. Forsake evil; turn away from it and He will renew a right spirit within you.

“Those who are wise will shine like brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.” Daniel 12:3

Seek YAH while there is still time. Be willing to follow Him and learn His ways. May you be enlightened, as a bright and shining star, always striving and leading others onto the path of righteousness!

“I saw that wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness.” Ecclesiastes 2:13

As believers, we have hope in the One Who gives us eternal life, and being enlightened is better than lacking good sense.

“The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of YAH gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.” Revelation 21:23

The sun will no longer supply light for you by day, nor will the moon’s brightness shine upon you; for the glory of YAH will illuminate the New Jerusalem and its lamp is the Lamb,  יהושע Messiah. The splendor of your Elohim will shine upon you!

“Woe unto them that call evil, ‘good,’ and good, ‘evil;’ that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Isaiah 5:20

Being in darkness is the emblem of ignorance, error, and false doctrine. It is a heart condition for those who have become corrupt in their thinking; what sorrow awaits those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever. They will become like stubble and chaff and be consumed by YAH’s wrath!

“Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going.” John 12:35

Our time on this earth is both short and limited. The throne of grace will one day be displaced by the throne of judgment. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest. Therefore, how we live our lives matters greatly both in the present time and for eternity.

Sleeping with The Enemy

"Behold, I will throw her on a bed of sickness, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds." Revelation 2:22

Listen up! To the church in Thyatira:

You are lying in bed with the great whore Babylon. You are serving her rather than the Creator and you have contracted a spiritual disease to your own destruction. Now you will have terrible affliction.

This message is not speaking to the non-believing masses but addresses the church/ekklesia, those professing believers in Thyatira. These foolish people have conformed with the world and have become complacent. They are having intercourse with the world!

How has this happened? 

The great whore is incredibly seductive. She offers exactly what every man wants – independence, freedom, liberty. But where YHWH does not direct, the enemy does. 

Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 3:20 TS2009 “But indeed as a wife betrays her husband, so have you betrayed Me, O house of Yisra’ĕl,” declares יהוה.

The sheets are perfumed. The room is enticing to the eyes. The wine is excellent. But she’s still a whore. A believer relies and depends on the Father to lead according to His will; anything less is Sleeping with the Enemy.

Another way to put it: It is spiritual adultery. It is a betrayal of a sacred commitment unto YHWH - a subtle yet dark force that can creep in and erode a person's faith which can leave a spiritual emptiness.

The Old Testament, or Tanakh, frequently depicts Israel's worship of false gods as a form of adultery against YHWH (Jeremiah 3:20; Ezekiel 16:30).

• Idolatry: This is the most blatant form. Idolatry isn't just about worshipping statues; it's about anything that takes the place of YHWH in our lives—whether it's career success, wealth, possessions, or even relationships.

• Worldly Pleasures: Immersing ourselves in excessive entertainment, pursuing temporary gratification, or chasing fleeting pleasures can all contribute to an adulterous spirit. These actions draw our focus away from YHWH and His purpose for us.

• Hypocrisy: Claiming to love YHWH while simultaneously embracing worldly values and lifestyles demonstrates a profound hypocrisy. James highlights this contradiction when he states that those who claim to love Elohim yet are friends with the world are committing spiritual adultery (James 4:4-5).

Yehezqĕl (Ezekiel) 16:30 TS2009 “How weak is your heart!” declares the Master יהוה, “seeing you do all this, the deeds of a shameless whore.

Avoiding spiritual adultery requires a change of heart and a conscious realignment of priorities. This involves actively choosing to focus on heavenly things rather than earthly ones (Colossians 3:2), cultivating a deeper affection for YHWH, and rejecting the desire of worldly temptations (1 John 2:15-16). It requires resistance to conforming to worldly lusts (1 Peter 1:14-16) and a wholehearted commitment to YHWH, avoiding lukewarmness (Revelation 3:15-16). 

Remember, one cannot serve two masters by trying to serve YHWH and the world simultaneously. (Matthew 6:24).

Brothers and Sisters, repentance and a conscious effort to walk in righteousness are crucial. We should always place YHWH first and foremost above all.

A Light Unto The Nations

As we strive to walk in the ways of our Heavenly Father, living set apart from the rest of the world can seem far out of reach. Everyone is foreign to us. We are foreign to them. We are placed in a society where our views are rejected and the Truth we share is obsolete.

Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to them that call evil, ‘good’ and good, ‘evil,’ that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

Some may be kind to us out of pity or just feel obliged to do so. Some put on a facade, but deep within their black hearts, they hold bitterness and animosity towards those who are truly walking in the light because darkness hates light!

Micah 7:8 “Do not gloat over me my enemy! Though I have fallen, I WILL RISE. Though I sit in darkness, YHWH will be my Light.”

We should not lose hope when people insult and revile against us, for YHWH will get us through the darkness and bring us into His marvelous Light.

Acts 13:47 “For so the Master has commanded us, ‘I have set you to be a light to the nations [Gentiles], that you should be for deliverance to the ends of the earth.’”

We are beacons of light in the midst of a dark world. And the light overcomes darkness.

Psalm 18:28 “You, YHWH, keep my lamp burning; my Elohim turns my darkness into light.”

We put our trust in YHWH and no one else because He is our only hope, strength, and peace. What sorrow awaits those who put their trust in man, who seek counsel from the world rather than the One Who gives refuge!

“Woe to the stubborn children,” declares YHWH, “to make counsel, but not from Me, and to devise plans, but not of My Spirit, in order to add sin to sin; who are setting out to go down to Mitsrayim, and have not asked My mouth, to be strengthened in the strength of Pharoah, and to seek refuge in the shadow of Mitsrayim!”

For those still walking in darkness; forsake evil and turn away from it. Edify your heart, mind, and soul with the Word of YHWH, for His Torah is Light, righteousness, and truth. Seek YHWH while there is still time and be willing to learn His ways.

Our Messiah Yahshua is truly the Light of the world. He is our prime example of how our walk should reflect His, because He kept the Father’s commandments perfectly and blamelessly. He was the Suffering Servant who fulfilled His mission He was called to do according to the Father’s will, as we also ought to do.

So, as we face our own trials and tribulation, we should also be a light unto others, bearing good fruit while we persevere, staying in the Word, and striving to keep our Heavenly Father’s covenant faithfully.

The good fruit we bear is His light indwelling in every true believer, which is His Torah.

Psalm 119:105 “Your Torah is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

But, YHWH’s Word gives wisdom and understanding to those who truly seek Him. May His Torah be your delight and His Way a light for your path!

Daniel 12:3 “Those who are wise will shine like brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”

Continue to shine your light unto the nations, like the brightness of the stars forever and ever!  HalleluYAH!

The Law is Spiritual

The Torah/Law is spiritual, perfect, and everlasting.

Romans 7:12

So then, the Torah/Law is holy, and the (its) commandment is holy, righteous and good.

When we receive a circumcised heart, we also receive the Set-Apart Spirit Who indwells in every true believer. Without the Father’s Spirit/Ruach, our faith produces dead works. This means we are not bearing good fruit and are spiritually dead.

Romiyim (Romans) 7:14 TS2009

For we know that the Torah is Spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin.

But the Law of the Spirit, the power of the life-giving Set-Apart Spirit, through Messiah Yahshua, frees us from the power of sin that leads to death (Romans 8:2).

James 1:25 

But whoever looks intently into the perfect Torah/law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

The Torah/Law gives life and blessings. Torahlessness/Lawlessness brings curses and death.

The Spirit/Ruach gives us the power and the "want to obey" heart. 

Galatians 5:16 says, "Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh."

Some other Bible verses related to walking in the Spirit include: 

• Romans 8:3–4: "The righteous requirement of the law [is] fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit". 

• Galatians 5:25: "If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit."

• Galatians 6:8: "He that sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life."

When we obey and keep the Father’s Commandments, we walk according to His Spirit and fulfill His will in our lives. This means we are His covenanted people and He is our God/Elohim.

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Messiah Yahshua, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Those who follow Messiah’s example and hear His voice are His true sheep. The one who claims to know Him and does not obey Him is a liar and the Truth is not in that person but is condemned already.

What is Truth? Torah! What happens when we sin? We transgress the Torah (1 John 3:4).

Ya‛aqoḇ (James) 2:12 TS2009

So speak and so do as those who are to be judged by a Torah of freedom.

Messiah says that whoever rejects Him and the Word He has spoken has one that is going to judge him on the last day - Torah. (John 12:48). 

Get your hearts 💕 right with YHWH and walk according to His Spirit and not according to your flesh because according to Scripture, no one will see Him without set-apartness/holiness.

The Righteous are Tried

Why would a righteous man like Job suffer tribulation and suffering? 

 “How many are my iniquities and sins? Make known to me my transgression and my sin."

Job 13:23

Job reasoned with YHWH and requested judgment to be placed on him for any wrongdoing, not knowing that his faith was being tested (Job 2:3-6; 14:3).

We sometimes wonder why we must all endure trials and tribulation even though we turn our foot away from evil and walk blamelessly in YHWH's commandments, we ask ourselves, "Where did I go wrong?" 

“Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested [chosen] you in the furnace of affliction."

Isaiah 48:10

Like Job, we can expect to endure hardship and affliction in this lifetime, as our faith is being tested everyday and we are being refined as gold (Job 23:10). 

"Though he were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered;

And being made perfect, He became the Author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him."

Hebrews 8:8-9

Our Messiah was persecuted; humiliated, beaten, and crucified for the Truth. He was anointed by YHWH, being made perfect, and through obedience became the Suffering Servant.

¶“Behold, how blessed is the man whom YHWH reproves, so do not reject the discipline of the Almighty."

Job 5:17

Beloved brothers and sisters, we are loved by our Heavenly Father beyond words can express. Whether we are continuously striving to guard and keep His commandments or we happen to slip off the narrow path for a moment, we can rest assured that He is there guiding us every step of the Way.  

Like Messiah, we are His suffering servants being sanctified unto perfection and righteousness, for without set-apartness, no one will enter the Kingdom of YHWH.
